General Updates 🐶

PDX Pet Connection Interview

I was recently interviewed by Kim with PDX Pet Connection who hosts a fantastic podcast on Spotify. If you want discover more pet-related businesses and rescues in our city, it's a great resource. Tune into the episode where I talk about why I started Pooch Patrol.

New Pooch Chill 3000mg Strength

We'll be adding a new strength to our Pooch Chill pet wellness this week. It's 3000mg and is ideal for pups with very high anxiety. It can help pets recovering from surgery since CBD reduces swelling and inflammation. I've used it for my foot pain and sleep - works great! Head over to our website to place an order.

Texting Issues Fixed

We had an issue with the client portal not sending and receiving texts last month but it's been fixed. We'll be monitoring it more closely to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Pre-book Services for 2024

Several pawparents have already booked our services for next year in Jan, April, July, and Sept. If you have travel or work plans in 2024 and would like us to care for your pets, you can pre-book those services now on the client portal. We get very busy in the spring so get planning before it's too late!

Rescue Shout Outs 👐

Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals

They have been working tirelessly, since 2002, to save homeless pets from high-kill shelters. They're is a foster-based animal rescue that wants to save as many "last chance" adoptable animals as humanly possible from overcrowded shelters, restore them to health, and find them loving forever homes.

My Way Home Dog Rescue

This lovely organization was created by a group of people committed to improving the quality of dogs' lives. They focus on a few dogs at a time and that helps them match dogs to homes that have the best chance of lasting a lifetime.

Small Biz Shout Outs 👐

Down Dog Bags

If you like camping in cold weather and need a sleeping bag for your pooch that's warm and compressible, check out Down Dog Bags. They're based in Ashland, OR and fill their bags with certified down. Everything is made by hand and their products are both very high-quality and customizable for your pup. It takes 6-8 weeks for one to be made so get on their waiting list.

All Happy Dogs Run

When the rain starts to kick in and your pups get stir crazy, Happy Dogs Run is here to help. Sarah's mobile gym for dogs comes to your home or office. The treadmills don't have motors so your dog can set its own pace. It's a great alternative to dog parks and it's perfect for anxious ones, seniors, and rescues.

Bigfoot Pizza

Nothing beats a warm and toasty deep dish pizza on a Friday night. You can find Nick's killer pizza at the Yard on NE Davis & NE 82nd and he's open late when you get the midnight munchies. The dough is just the right amount of chewy and crust has some crunch. Add a cookies and cream milkshake to your order and thank me later.

Fresh Tunes 🎧

Here's what I've been listening to with the cold weather starting to kick in:

  • Jungle - music that makes you want to keep moving
  • Dreamscapes - Blissful, ambient & rainy tracks inspired by Blade Runner
  • Lately - tunes that are on more frequent rotation

Pooch Remembrance 🌈

Bee Bee crossed the rainbow bridge this month. She was over 15-years-old and we had the pleasure of caring for her before her pawmom relocated to Arizona. Sweet Bee Bee was such a wonderful Chihuahua and we'll miss her lap snuggles and zoomies.
