For Boarding Clients
Your dog will receive my full attention because I only board one dog at a time. I don't own a dog and have two cats. Your pet won't need to worry about other pooches because I have a long 60' x 20' concrete backyard. So your pup and I will have a blast getting its playtime in. I also have a nice shade garden and a deck so your pooch can chill outside.
Note: I will accept a boarding request for two dogs if they get along with each other.
We'll go on two 45-minute (or longer) walks every day during your pet's stay at the resort. Many of our streets are wide so your dog will feel safe walking together with me. I provide high-value training treats with water to keep your dog happy at all times.
There are great nearby fenced dog parks and hiking spots. If your pup is dog-friendly, we'll go on an extra adventure staying with me.
My Speciality
I specialize in care for rescue, senior, disabled, and anxious dogs so if your pooch has difficulty interacting with others, you've chosen the ideal professional pet care provider. I will work with their personality and support their challenges in life. If your pup has behavioral issues that you believe are manageable with positive reinforcement, I can provide a welcome and caring environment for it.
Their inner personality will shine at Pooch Patrol Resort.

Positive Reinforcement & Force-Free Dog Training Included with Walks
While walking your dog, I will teach it to learn my training commands: wait, cross, cross gentle, let's go, come on, leave it, keep walking, touch, and look at me/eyes.
I use positive reinforcement techniques and have successfully trained my client's dogs without the need for chocker chains, pronged collars, or e-collars. These so-called "obedience training" devices will only cause your dog pain and fear while walking and do not correct its behavioral issue. If your dog is anxious, it'll make the problem even worse as it puts pressure on your pup's throat and can cause physical, along with mental pain.
Force-free training techniques combined with high-value treats as rewards are excellent for dogs that are very anxious, fearful or are reactive to other dogs.
Your Dog's Safety Is My Priority
I will use my Ruffwear front-range safety harness for walking with your dog. It has a very strong and thick metal back clip that gets attached to my 10' long Wilderdog rope leash. My leash has heavy-duty locking carabiners connected to my leather belt so your pooch is always attached to me. Depending on your dog's past training received, I may either use your leash and/or collar - or a combination of mine and yours.
For walking at night, I use a very bright LED headlamp so cars will easily see your pooch when we're crossing the street. I also attach a blinking light to my harnesses so your pooch will be very visible by other dog walkers as well.
I take your pet's safety very seriously and will be there 100% with it.
Tips
If you want to leave a tip, you will be able to through the client portal app and website. Some of my clients like to give me cash. I don't expect tips but they're appreciated because I love food carts and expanding my pet supplies.
COVID
I am fully vaccinated and so is the Pooch Patrol pack who will be helping with your pooch during boarding and Drop-In Visits. All of us have also received our booster Moderna and Phizer shots.
Summer Months Dog Care
During the warmer months from May to early October, I will schedule walks for your dog when it's 60° to 75° outside. I will aim for about 70° since that's a reasonable temperature for most dogs. For smaller breeds, it'll be 60°to 65°.
Walking your dog when it's warmer than 75° to 80° will cause pain and possible burn injury to its paws because the concrete will be too hot (over 125°).
If your dog is staying overnight at the resort, we'll switch to early morning and/or late evening walks between 7am to 11pm when temperatures are cooler.
On warmer days when it's too hot outside to walk, I'll keep your pooch safely inside. I have an AC unit in my living room so it'll be cool for your dog to relax. Otherwise, we'll chill in my basement where it's naturally about 65° and comfortable 🧡

Chuck and his family watched our dog Reese at their house while we were out of town for a week, and we cannot recommend him enough! Our pup has some dog aggression and separation anxiety, but in our first conversation we felt completely comfortable with Chuck's (and his family's!) dog behavior expertise.
Chuck sends daily updates and photos (and a couple of adorable videos!) and gives a really thoughtful summary of what he and your dog did that day. Reese got to play with a new dog friend, go on walks and hikes, explore new food carts, and meet tons of new human friends. By her first night with Chuck it was clear he really takes care of his clients like his own pets and family. We can't thank him enough for showing Reese so much love. She had an amazing time and will be back soon!
